I read the original first and thought it was the remake before reading the rewrite! It also love you works as a snark response. Or you could have just change the mother’s response to ” no dear, he knows you’re a tramp”
Decades ago when I first started doing Last Kiss, I read all 40 issues of my First Kiss source material. So I guess I do have some vestigial knowledge of the storylines. But I don’t remember–at least consciously–the dialogue in single panels of First Kiss.
And when I’m writing Last Kiss these days I often don’t read the text in the original story panels. Instead I’m focused on the art and what I can do with it in regard to a gag.
So it’s always interesting when it turns out that the original and the Last Kiss versions counterpoint each other.
And I’m always, always, always floored when Jams comes up with new dialogue to go with the original comments. It really gives new life to the material!
Hmm. This might be a good time to explain that I write Last Kiss in two different ways. When I started out I’d look at the original art and try to come up with some new, funny dialogue.
I still do that–sometimes.
But these days I often think of a funny bit of dialogue first and then search through my vast treasure trove of art to find something that’ll fit the gag. And then–depending on the art I use–I often modify the gag to take advantage of a character’s facial expression or what ever else is going on in the art.
“No Darling…You’re just being yourself…
…And once you remove all your clothes, you’ll be even more yourself!”
…Annoying. Needy. Self Centered. Vapid. All the terms that mean…You!”
…Which probably means there’s a warrant out for your arrest. Say hi to Judge Duncan for me!”
…Because there sure in hell is no one else around who wants to be you. Believe me. We’ve looked.”
…I can tell because of the odor.”
…A train wreck in high heels and a Double D. And no, Double D does not stand for “Damn Delicious”, no matter what the boys tell you.”
I mean, two things can be true. She could be Damn Delicious, as well as stacked.
Porn in 1960: “I can ALMOST see underboob!!”
Underboob is the most titillating of soft porn.

Side boob is nice as well. So is down blouse. Sweatermeat is a fine example of soft core porn as well.
I’m beginning to see a pattern here…
ALL boobs are titillating! Literally!!!
I sometimes find underboob even full boob. I guess it’s the tease factor.

Thanks, Tom.
I want to confess something, though.
