And Now for Something Completely Different?
While doing Last Kiss I go through a lot of old comic art. Sometimes I come across something so unusual–and provocative–that I think readers will get a kick seeing it. So much so that there’s no need for me to add or replace any dialogue.
Today’s comic–written and drawn by Charles Biro–was one of those cases. My question for readers is: Would you like to see more wild comic art as is when I find something interesting. Let me know. Thanks!

1940s comics were quirky. But few were as quirky as Boy Comics #9! It featured the story of He-She...a murderous bigamist who was 50
percent man, 50 percent woman
and 100 percent rotten.
He-She’s superpower? The ability to appear male or female as needed! (But only if you didn’t see both sides of his/her face at the same time.)
How did He-She seduce
so many women--and go on honeymoons with them?!!--
without being discovered? We never find out!
This is the first page of a 15-page story by Charles Biro and I swear I didn’t change a thing from when it appeared in 1943--except to give She some lipstick!

80 years ago the Battle of the Bulge was still raging. My father was with the First Army (go big red one) near Aachen. Northwestern part of the bulge.
Used to piss my dad off that Patton got all the credit for “winning the battle of the bulge”. He was a big fan of General Bradley.
Dave, I’m not terribly knowledgeable about a lot of military history, but I have gotten the impression that Bradley was underrated. So, I’m glad to hear that your dad was a Bradley fan!

Oh my yes, please do keep posting these John. Reading a comic where a vertical hermaphrodite beats a teenage boy who’s wearing his boxers outside his pants and the boy’s pet monkey with a chair is like watching my childhood all over again.
I finally understand what Roberta Flack meant when she said he was killing her softly with his song.

Ha! If that’s your childhood then you deserve your own (auto-biographical) comic book series, Jams. But I’m really pleased you like this so much.
I doubt I’ll be able to come up with anything quite as outlandish as this comic in the future, but I’ll do my best!

Please! More of this. The French have a saying that goes loosely “The more things change, the more they stay the same.” It’s good to be reminded that gender issues have been with us for centuries and are not a new phenomenon.
