I’ll admit that I struggled a bit with the guy’s dialogue. Should he be talking about returning an engagement ring? A new car? A jumbo box of chocolate truffles molded in her likeness?
Finally, I just went with a simple diamond ring– because diamond rings are a desperate comic writer’s best friend.

Artist unknown. From the story “His Face Before Me” in Romance Stories of True Love #51, Sept. 1958.
