Creepy romance hero?

No, this guy isn’t the villain in this tale from Lovelorn #7 (1950.) He’s the romantic hero whom readers are supposed to desire!

So, is it just me—or is he really creepy?

    Very very creepy – and ‘hereo’ of the strip? That’s creepier still.
