Dear Men (and Some Women),
I’m now accepting applications from prospective lovers. Please send me your bank statements and an essay (“Why I Want to Be Your Sex Slave” in 69 words or less.) Immediately!
I reserve the right to reject and humiliate all of you—even if you don’t submit an application. —-Therese Von Tramp
Meanwhile, back in the present…
See the revamped version of this art and with new, funny dialogue in today’s Last Kiss Comic.
I didn’t know that they had Donald Tokowitz, comics in 1951.
Fortunately, with comics all things are possible—even romantic time travel.
I’ve always been perplexed by the typewritten dialogue from Charlton comics. Couldn’t they afford Letterers?
I don’t think that any comic company (that actually paid it’s talent) was cheaper than Charlton. Apparently, Charlton had an oversized typewriter that someone would stick the art in and type the dialogue right on the art. Bizarre, but true.
I didn’t realize Emil Zola was still alive and writing for comics in 1951.
