Locked Love

Locked Love

Last Kiss Comic for April 26 2020

More Last Kiss fun from Black Lightning creator Tony Isabella.

If you have trouble reading the text of the original art, I’ve typed it out below.

Vintage art & text.

Art by Dick Giordano from Just Married #34, Dec. 1963.

Original 1963 Text: Andrew and I were on our honeymoon and very much in love! That would be enough…for a time! Then I would change my husband, and make ours a…”Perfect Marriage”

HUSBAND: Terri…you’re terrific!

WIFE (thinking): How can you be so crude?

Transcript of today’s Last Kiss comic:

Scene: Man and woman embracing and about to kiss.

WOMAN: Alone at last, my darling! We have 15 minutes tops before the kids figure out we’re on the roof…and bust through the door!

CAPTION: Even in lockdown, romance will find a way!

1963 Art: Dick Giordano Color: Diego Jourdan Pereira
Guest Writer: Tony Isabella

Diary Hopes

Diary Hopes

With Black Lightning creator Tony Isabella guest writing Last Kiss (about once a week) I’ve been able to get ahead a bit on my schedule. But the biggest delight of working with Tony is seeing what he comes up with. I’ll admit, this is one of my favorites!

Art by Vince Colletta Studio from the story “Girl Meets Boy!” in FIRST KISS #11, Nov. 1959.

Transcript:

SCENE: Young woman in bed looking at a book.

CAPTION: Henrietta sobbed softly. Another lonely weekend staring at the blank
pages of her diary. Lost in heartache, she didn’t see the portal open. Adventure
and romance await!

Siren Sex

Siren Sex

Here’s another updated comic from the days when I did Last Kiss for Comics Buyer’s Guide. Note: The two original art panels (below) are from the same story, but were taken from different pages of that story.

Art by Vince Colletta Studio from the story “Jealousy” in First Kiss #14, 1960.

Curious about the story this art comes from? You can read the entire—extremely odd—story and the rest of the vintage comic book here on the free comics site, ComicBookPlus.com.

Transcript:

CAPTION: Welcome to Comicstown–where getting bitten by a radioactive spider, cloned by aliens, and becoming an orphaned mutant are every child’s dream…and constitutional right!

SCARLET SIREN: I’m the Scarlet Siren! My super power? I turn men into…unsuspecting fools!

MAN: I find that hard to believe!

SCARLET SIREN: See! It’s working already!

1960 Art: Vince Colletta Studio Color by Allen Freeman
