How Oktoberfest always ends on Monster Island

How Oktoberfest always ends on Monster Island

Because of Covid, Oktoberfest wasn’t held this year in Germany. But that didn’t stop Gorgo in this tale of Monster Love from Tony Isabella.

Original Vintage Art & Text

Art by Bill Montes and Ernie Bache from the story “The World Shaker” in Gorgo #19, July 1964. Charlton Comics. Click link to read the entire vintage comic book for free.

Transcript:

PANEL #1: Gorgo is standing tall above the jungle, but is leaning unsteadily as if about to fall. There are are stars and special effect images above his head indicating that he’s losing consciousness.

PANEL #2: Gorgo crashes to the ground. A man flees screaming.

CAPTION: it was a familiar tale. Boy meets girl. Boy loses girl.

Boy drinks to forget girl.

And, as always, it was the helpless breweries…

…that paid the price for love unrequited.

SOUND EFFECT: KRAASH

MAN: YEEIII!

1964 Art: Bill Montes & Ernie Bache
Writer: Tony Isabella

I’m Adorable

I’m Adorable

Ode to Oktoberfest?

In the real world, Oktoberfest was cancelled because of Covid.
.
Here on planet Last Kiss, however, I’m carrying on with a mini-Oktoberfest salute so that we can all share a digital drink together.
.
We conclude Monday with a monstrously funny gag from Tony Isabella that fits the Oktoberfest theme perfectly and also launches us into the Halloween season. Cheers!
