Hey guys. There’s a surfer on a big wave like right there. I mean. Right. There. Maybe you should do this some place else..
Oh no! It’s too late! Run you fools! Run!

Kevin liked his women like he liked his floatation devices…fully inflated.

“Kiss me Kevin…and make no false promises! If you return I’ll be here!…
…Probably with Craig! Maybe Evan too! But however many men I’ll be with, we’ll all be right here! Waiting for you to come back! And having sex!”

“I’ll find a way to come back…back to you my darling!..
…Assuming your Dad’s still rich that is!”
…And this time when I come back, I’ll already have been treated for the chlamydia!”
…And maybe this time come front as well!”

So just to point out the obvious:
He’s going surfing wearing executive slacks and a velour golf shirt.
She’s dressed like a beach chair someone crowned queen of the rose parade,
And there’s a big friggin’ wave about to tsunami over their Love-Ain’t–Just-Blind-It’s-Stupid butts.
I mean it’s Right. There. How can they not see it?
But, Jams, the cover is just representing the elements of the story in one big, action-packed (Here comes the mother of all waves!) image. The representation is—like the coming tsunami—right. There!
Seriously, you’re hilarious as always, Jams!
One of the first romance comic stories to wrestle with young lads heading to Vietnam??
She’s not dressed as a “beach bunny”. My early 60’s movie memories were full of Annette Funicello surrounded by tanned, bikini clad, beach bunnies. Thinly plotted but a lot of appeal to those not quite old enough to drive.
A year or so later the Beach Boys sang it best… “Wish they all could be California Girls.”
I wasn’t quite a teen when most of those movies came out. And I didn’t see any of them until maybe 20 or so years later when they were already considered pretty tame. But Annette Funicello…oh, my. What a bundle of sweet fun—and easy on the eyes—she was!
The first Mousketeer to grow noticeable breasts. Followed closely by another one… Darlene or Doreen I can’t remember which… We used to “discuss” which one was more attractive. Not that we’d have known what to do about it.
Serious reading, I’ll try out braille.
