For most people the ‘stock market’ doesn’t affect their paychecks. The rich folks with large portfolios aren’t very happy at the moment but they’ll recover.
Well, no. The stock market doesn’t affect people’s paychecks. But plenty of ordinary (not rich) folks have 401Ks with stock investments. (Or so I hear. I don’t have a 401K myself.)
So I imagine it’s super concerning that the market is so far down—particularly if someone is thinking of retiring soon and living off their 401K.
