You said in your e-mail that it’s difficult to do a funny yet respectful joke for Memorial Day. That brought to mind a moment from the old sit com “Taxi” where Rev. Jim was going on about all the Vietnam war protests he attended. Tony, the boxer, gets in his face and says that while Jim was off getting stoned and meeting girls at these protests, Tony was actually in Vietnam risking his life for America so that Jim could be free to protest. What did Jim have to say to that?
And without missing a beat Jim replies, “Thank you.”
