By the way, I titled this one The Queen’s Gambit—-inspired in part by the terrific Netflix series of the same name. As it turns out, I finished watching the last episode of the series tonight and it was even better than I was hoping for.
The series has more meaning if you know chess—-especially if you’ve gone to some chess tournaments. (I was chess coordinator at my kiddo’s school.) But it’s a terrific series even if you don’t know a rook from a bishop.

That is one odd looking hand, all the fingers are the same size, maybe that’s what she just realized her husband found out.
Even her thumb just looks like is placed on the hand as a finger. Hmmm…
I agree. It’s an odd hand for sure. On the other hand—I pointed out on GoComics—I love the emotional expressiveness of the panel.
Drama queens can be high risk/high reward. HOwever, it does bring to mind the old saying:
“Just remember when you see a spectacular looking woman that somewhere some guy is tired of putting up with her shit.”
That’s undoubtedly true—sometimes. But sometimes spectacular women are also burdened with jerks who don’t know how to appreciate them.
As a consulting hypnotist, I sometimes get clients who want me to make them be like they were when they were first married. I point to the certificates on my wall and ask, “Do any of them say “Drama Coach”? I refer them to a marriage counselor, instead.
Good decision!!!
…but in the email, the original is dated as from 1942??
Oops. The credit line for the original art that I sent out to my mailing list is wrong. I apologize. That’s a holdover from a previous e-mail that I accidentally included. Sorry for the confusion.
Drama Queen?… So that’s where my ex got off to!
