My attention was drawn to the keyhole in the original comic. It’s a subtle reminder of how different life was when this was originally published. Most homes had simple locks like this. There were only about a half dozen different keys that opened the vast majority of them, and all of them were available at neighborhood hardware stores. Most people I knew locked their doors only when there was nobody home.
Now she has to walk through the orange ben day wall.
