A bouquet of roses is delivered…without a card.
Are the flowers from a secret admirer? A stalker with class? Or an incompetent florist?
The wife doesn’t care. She’s just glad that it’s making her hubby jealous!
And, if one bouquet makes him jealous, surely more will be even better.
So begins the tale of a wife who becomes her own “secret admirer” and sends herself roses every other day—just to drive her husband nuts.
The original art (right) is from First Kiss #20 (1961.)

What’s going on in the original art? Helen is living in Hicksville (a suburb of Boringburg, USA) and is moving to Paris to study—leaving behind her boyfriend Steve.
She’s going to be gone for years and can’t ask him to wait.
So they’re breaking up (she thinks.)
But, before she leaves, Steve grabs her and kisses her one last time.
Later, Steve shows up in Paris sporting a French accent, a beret and a marriage license. But that’s a story for another time.

I was proud of today’s title “Gone Today, Beer Tomorrow”…’til it occurred to me that it had come to me a little too easily. So I Googled the phrase and it came up 2,440,000 times.
Obviously all these other people were clairvoyant and stole my idea—before I thought of it.
Today’s original art (above) is from First Kiss #5 (1958) and it’s a bit sparse on verbiage so I’m throwing in some extra panels.
